ABSTRACT

Bodies come in various shapes, sizes and colours. Some bodies are healthy, others are sick. Some bodies perform better than others in activities such as sports. Some bodies are disabled. We experience our bodies in ways that provide constant reminders that being human is to be embodied. We feel strong, comfortable, poorly, agitated, nervous. We experience other bodies as attractive, ugly, sexy, fat. Bodies are everywhere. They are integral to our experiences of being human. This means that we know a lot about bodies simply from living in and with them.
