ABSTRACT
Theories play a significant role in the work of student affairs professionals. They describe characteristics of our student population, demonstrate differences in the learning process, give us a deeper understanding of the campus environment, and help us navigate the politics of academic administration. Theories provide a road map for professionals to evaluate problems and reach best practice solutions.
