ABSTRACT

Understanding the nature, antecedents, and consequences of organizational politics requires a cohesive relationship among theory, measures, methods, and analyses. A researcher’s choices about the measures and methodology used to test a theory undoubtedly will affect the outcome of that investigation and, cumulatively, the amount of support for a given theory. The challenge is to choose the most appropriate measures and methods to study the theory or phenomenon of interest so that the true relationships are revealed and science advances.
