‘Homage to Clio'

Hall (b. 1928) taught at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from 1957 to 1977, and has been Poetry Editor of ‘Paris Review’, 1953–61. Author of several volumes of verse, he has also edited the ‘Faber Book of Modern Verse’ (1966).
