ABSTRACT

Alan Pryce-Jones (b. 1908), book critic, author, and journalist, was Assistant Editor of the ‘London Mercury’ (1928–32). Then he worked for the ‘Times Literary Supplement’, which he edited from 1948 to 1959. He later became Book Critic for the ‘New York Herald Tribune’ (1963–6), ‘World Journal Tribune’ (1967–8), and ‘Newsday’ (1969–71). His publications include ‘The Spring Journey’ (1931), ‘27 Poems’ (1935), and ‘Private Opinion’ (1936).
