C.B. Cox (b. 1928) is John Edward Taylor Professor of English Literature at the University of Manchester, and has co-edited ‘Critical Quarterly’ since 1959. His books include ‘Joseph Conrad: The Modern Imagination’ (1974), as well as studies in the practical criticism of poetry.
