ABSTRACT

Randall Swingler (1909–67), poet and editor, joined the Communist Party in 1934 (which he left in 1952), and became closely involved with the Workers’ Music Association, the Left Book Club, and the Unity Theatre. His editorial career spanned the ‘Daily Worker’ book page,‘Left Review’ (of which he was the last editor), ‘Poetry and the People’, ’Our Time’, ‘Arena’, ‘Circus’, and the ‘New Reasoner’. His books include ‘Poems’ (1932), ‘The Years of Anger’ (1946), and ‘The God in the Cave’ (1950).
