ABSTRACT
Commissioned by their publishers to write a travel book about the Far East, Messrs. Auden and Isherwood chose to go to China, and spent four months there last year. They now offer the reader who has never been there ‘some impression of what he would be likely to see, and of what kind of stories he would be likely to hear. ’ The book contains a travel diary by Mr. Isherwood, and poems and many excellent photographs by Mr. Auden.
