ABSTRACT

Recently, a power decrease caused by an error in discriminating between units occurred at Kansai’s nuclear power plant. Within a few months after the incident, a reactor shutdown was caused by an error while an operator was discriminating between units at another plant. These occurrences have spurred Kansai to review current measures for guarding against human errors and to investigate additional ones. This chapter summarises the current status of Kansai’s preventive measures.
