ABSTRACT

This experiment was made in the present infinitive, with, as follow-on, the more fundamental experiments that we have made in the theatre. Perhaps the fact of acting in this infinitive comes from my metaphysical need to be always on the side of the losers…. And as with the ancients, who once a year let into the city those who were shut out of it, that’s to say, the slaves-it is those who are the bearers of expression, the bearers of the city’s different realities, which obviously they were much closer to than any of the culturally privileged-(there obviously you see the dialogue between the work and the city, that I get from Vilar).…

All these people coming from different backgrounds-from prison (some are still doing time, others are barely released), from psychiatry, from illiteracy-we try to inculcate in them the idea that their dignity-that dignity which during their whole existence up till then they’ve been deprived ofcomes with the mastery of writing. The experiment is carried out in the following way: we start with sheets and sheets of writing, followed by public readings on one and only one theme: Who am I? It’s not always easy, especially when at the start writing, spelling, is most frequently phonetic….
