ABSTRACT
The relationship between television regulation and civil society is therefore difficult to cement, in particular the broadest sense that a ‘civil society’ is one in which citizens participate to the fullest in public affairs (Vatikiotis 2000). However, this is probably the most relevant point of entry in understanding the concept of regulatory space that best describes the nature of television regulation in China today.
