The Nature of ICT as a Subject Steve Kennewell

ICT is a relatively new addition to the school curriculum. The current subject title was only introduced in 2000, and even if we include its predecessors with different titles – Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Studies, Computer Science and Computer Literacy – the subject has been taught formally for a much shorter time than most subjects. Furthermore, Computing Science has existed as a field of research for a mere half century.
