ABSTRACT
The “frog theory of change” suggests that it is possible to boil a frog in a cauldron of water if you are careful to turn the heat up slowly. Turning the heat up too rapidly of course leads the frog to jump out. This metaphor provides educators with a very apt strategy for teaching intercultural competence. We can teach the hottest intercultural issues effectively only when we have approached them gradually and developmentally.
