ABSTRACT
One of the emerging organizing forms for structuring work on a global scale is the global team, defined as a group of people who work interdependently across time and distance to achieve a common objective. They “think globally and act locally” to design products for the global marketplace and keep ideas and resources moving wherever they are needed to produce and deliver these products. Global teams are becoming more prevalent as communication technology becomes more reliable and allows the ready flow of more complex and detailed information including graphics, complicated mathematical data, video, and simultaneous transmission of information in multiple formats through multiple channels.
