There is a typical example here, which could be multiplied many times, of a play of words in the German which cannot be reproduced in the English. “This is not superstition (Aberglaube), but perverse knowledge (Aberwissen).” And of course this is more than a play of words, since this perverse knowledge leads direct to gnosis, which is very different from the theme, faith.
