For the past 15 years our office has produced a great number of projects; approximately 200. Most of them are lost competition projects, and they have not had a chance to be built, of course. Some of them are now realized in their construction. It is possible to explain and describe projects in different ways; technical, economic, brief, program, and so on. But I have chosen to discuss a small selection of projects and buildings considering the relation between architecture and its natural environment as an attempt to design an architecture conscious of the fragility of the conditions of our life on the Earth. Each project develops its own concept, related to its specific brief. But all of them could be gathered into a main idea which could be called the concept of a “microclimatic envelope”.
