ABSTRACT

The walking speed is measured with the proximity switch attached to the knee. The computer measures the time needed for one complete cycle from the stance phase through the swing phase and back again to the stance phase. First, the walking speed is measured with the switch. Next, the proper opening of the needle valve is determined for the measured speed according to the data recorded in the microcomputer. The linear stepping motor head operated the needle valve.
