ABSTRACT
The building materials widely practiced in Ethiopia among others are organic materials. They are characterized with alarmingly unsatisfactory performances affecting the housing stock, the environment as well the meager economy.
The proposal therefore, attempts to look into the two edged knife like service of these materials with respect to their durability to rate their impacts on the urban housing stock and environment.
