ABSTRACT

The Event Volunteering Evaluation (EVE) project is a comparative, cross-nation study that seeks to extend the understanding of volunteer motivations and satisfaction across different events and event types. This chapter details the underpinning work that conducts to establish the EVE project and discusses the initial testing of the standard instrument that lies at the projects heart, as well as providing insights to the challenges the project team has, to date, experienced in bringing EVE to fruition. It expects a clean, checked copy of the survey data returns to the project team within one month of survey administration. Indeed, authorship on the current chapter, comprising researchers from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, attests to the fact. An international perspective is required to promote cross-nation and cross-cultural perspectives on event volunteering research. Finally, it approaches from interested researchers to join the EVE project would be welcomed as an initial step in this direction.
