ABSTRACT

Summary: A review of the many insightful contributions of the chapters in this handbook led to a framework of overarching questions which provides perspectives on current and future innovation education. These larger questions include: (1) Why is innovation education necessary in the first place? (2) Does innovation education actually work? and (3) How do the innovative abilities of the gifted individual interpenetrate with the social frameworks of innovative teams? Answers to these questions draw upon both (1) the long history of human innovation and (2) the innovation concepts, methods, and programs discussed in the chapters in this handbook.
