ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to analyse how the facilitator of a conflict resolution workshop for rival groups can enhance harmony in conflict settings. After providing a general background on the workshop and the research methodology, I will describe the multicultural Israeli context and the use of the constructive confrontation strategy in the workshop to cope with the reluctance of two rival groups of students to interact. Next, I will discuss ethical dilemmas and the nature of experiential learning. Finally, I analyse transformational changes in a university setting between rival groups and how, through such workshops, we can enhance harmony and create agents of change.
