ABSTRACT
Approaches of separation of religion and law will be contrasted with three different perspectives of rejecting the claim for such a separation. Within these approaches, the linkage of religion and law is suggested by proceeding from a widened conceptualisation of law, by using a more abstract concept of religion or by drawing on both and regarding their close amalgamation as an essential part of socio-cultural order. This chapter will explore each of these three perspectives. *
