Although I fear to pester you, Sir, with my letter —after all, in the preface of your Psychopathia sexualis, you mention the “innumerable letters by such step-children of nature” —I still trustingly turn to you, hoping that a layman might report something to the scholar that is not entirely without interest: even the most inconspicuous thing may gain importance in the right place and may be worth the researcher's scrutiny. 1
