ABSTRACT

Anne Le More has provided us with an admirably clear and authoritative description of the recent history of aid to Palestine and has drawn on this to point out ways in which the situation should be improved upon in future. I am certainly in no position to match her knowledge of the local scene and the purpose of this note is to build upon aspects of her chapter to address a crucial issue: what strategy might a future independent Palestinian state pursue for attracting and managing development assistance in ways that could reconcile its political independence with high levels of reliance on aid?
