ABSTRACT
This work did not belong to the class of austere, strictly objective enquiry; it was of that fantastical kind which often gropes far ahead into the future and which originates in some stimulus outside the scope of everyday scientific activity. However, it was built on sound foundations and there was much plausibility in its deductions, which pointed to there being a unity of experience hidden behind the ultimate nebulosity of our feeling and perception.
