ABSTRACT

Let us face the facts: whichever universe is available for us, we are still in an existential situation of estrangement from it. This also means that our consciousness is alienated from the possibility of a comprehensive and permanent understanding of the cosmos. It follows that some dissonance is to be expected, not only within scientific discourse itself, but especially when different disciplines are invoked. In other words, in the dialogue between science and religion we must acknowledge that discourses from different approaches may pass through each other, leading to misunderstanding perhaps, but also to opportunity for further inquiry.
