ABSTRACT

In this paper we intend to play with metaphor. And we are aware that while our playing is utterly serious, it may yet, like that of the child whose sandpit play is intensely real and deeply formative to the playing child, be somewhat amusing to the adult onlooker. But because metaphors are complex, because they are infinitely dynamic and elusive of meaning capture, we think that it is only by exploring, experimenting and playing with them that we grow to understand their potential effects within organizations.
