ABSTRACT
When the last Handbook was published, only three Earth years but many more ‘Internet years’ ago, the Web itself was barely seven years old. Windows-based browsers were still evolving rapidly, and the adventure for many special librarians was simply in getting information online, available to all and visible from anywhere.
