ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses coastal and ocean management in developed and developing countries. Special attention is given to research and training efforts at regional, national and international levels, and to related activities of the United Nations. The chapter concludes with a review of the major trends and issues of international and national programmes in light of the experience gained from past and present coastal and ocean management activities.
