ABSTRACT
On the evening of February 18, 2009, a planned dance party hosted by a student activist group at New York University turned without public warning into a building occupation. As many as a hundred students took over a dining hall space on the third floor of NYU's Kimmel Hall, presenting a variety of demands to the administration.
