ABSTRACT
Microtechnology can enormously enhance the learning opportunities of children with communication difficulties. This chapter describes the work of the ACE Centre which was established to provide information and advice about the use of microelectronic aids to communication in education. In particular, the importance of a multi professional approach to the assessment of children's communication needs is discussed.
