ABSTRACT
Although by far the main volume of geomorphic work during the latter part of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth was conducted in the USA, Germany, France and Britain, other work was also important. Moreover, this work was not always derivative and, in Russia and Sweden in particular, on occasion assumed a highly original character.
