ABSTRACT

It has been claimed, especially in the Latin American countries, that soccer is more art and music than science. However, there is a belief that science and music can help in soccer. Several researchers (e.g. Hirtz, 1976 and Winter, 1981) have named five basic components of motor skills. These are kinesthetic separating capacity, spatial orientation, balance, reaction capacity and rhythm sense. Sense of rhythm can be an essential part of motor learning and performance (Barsch, 1967). Perceived or reproduced rhythm refers to musical aptitude and performance rhythm to motor skills.
