ABSTRACT

Many people have strong views about higher education (HE) courses, the graduates they produce and their suitability for industry. Currently, HE produces around 14,300 first-degree graduates in computer science each year, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA 2003), most of whom find jobs without difficulty. But is the real picture so rosy?
