ABSTRACT

In recent years there have been significant changes in higher education (HE) as a result of the Dearing Report, the Roberts Report, the Lambert Report and more recently the White Paper on the future of HE (DfES 2003). Many of the changes in HE have been reflected in the learning and teaching of computing. Indeed, the discipline of computing has often been in the vanguard, embracing, implementing and developing many of the changes. The aim of this book is to examine many of the issues currently facing the computing discipline and against this backdrop of change to share the experiences of the contributors in enhancing the student experience.
