ABSTRACT
This chapter is based on the British Humanist Association’s ongoing work on education policy and is in part a response to the Church of England’s proposals in The Way Ahead (Archbishops’ Council, 2001) to expand the number of church schools. Responses to the initial proposals made by the British Humanist Association (BHA) were analysed and assimilated, and this evolved into a policy paper A Better Way Forward, now published in full on BHA’s website (BHA 2002).
