ABSTRACT

The university is obliged to provide adequate support to enable each student to fulfil the educational requirements for their course of study. This would normally mean the provision of: • a place for quiet study; • library facilities; • managed learning environment (MLE)—C&IT facilities (see Chapters 1 and 8); • a meeting place; • somewhere to eat (at reasonable cost); • study rooms for lectures, seminars, tutorials that are adequately furnished

and provided with relevant learning and teaching equipment; • welfare (occupational health service, student counselling service, personal

tutors). Specific to medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine are: • clinical and laboratory facilities and equipment; • access to patients, where relevant.
