ABSTRACT
The operation of buildings within the built environment has a major impact on environment. Important decisions, that have consequences over a long life span, are made already in the design phase. Changes to design in construction are restricted due to their capital cost effects. On the other hand, optimization due to construction often has important implications to the life cycle performance and sustainability of constructed assets.
