Poetic moments in the classroom: poetry as a tool for teacher research and professional development

I am a staff developer in a small school district in New York City. This is the story of how writing poetry has helped me to understand my interactions with teachers and reflect on my practice. It is also the story of what has happened when I have shared some of these poems with some of the teachers I’ve worked with in a professional development context.
