ABSTRACT
Japan has three unresolved boundary problems that affect its territorial sovereignty. They are the Senkaku Retto, Takeshima and Hoppo Ryodo problems, respectively with China, South Korea and the former Soviet Union — currently Russia, a member of the Commonwealth of Indepen-dent States (CIS).
