ABSTRACT

This comment was one of many in our pupils’ comments book, which traces the school’s journey from its lowest point when it had just been placed in ‘Special Measures’ to its successful return to ‘normality’. The school is a rural school, which serves the village of Stockton. As such it has a strong sense of community because all our pupils come from the village. The population of the village is mixed, with some families having lived in the village for generations – some of our pupils are among the fifth generation of their family to attend the school – while some are newcomers to the village, occupying the new housing recently built.
