ABSTRACT
Mt Edgecumbe High School (MEHS) is situated on a small island across the channel from Sitka, Alaska. Started in the 1947 as a school for Native Americans, in 1984 it was removed from the control of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and converted into an ‘alternative’ school under the control of the State of Alaska.
