ABSTRACT
We now consider how important the peer group is in maintaining either cooperative or bullying behaviour. Within any bullying situation it is possible to work directly and individually with the pupils involved (see Chapter Eight), but powerful methods for preventing bullying occurring in the first place are those which involve the whole peer group: the bullies, the victims and the bystanders.
