ABSTRACT

In the theories of transnational learning developed in Part I of this book, we have outlined the preconditions for moving from comparative analysis to searching for good practices abroad and to dialogues in order to change policies. We have suggested that the process of transnational learning can be analyzed with the help of the SECI process. The preconditions for successful transnational learning, illustrated by the two lessons presented in this chapter, one successful and one not so successful, are structural, cognitive and organizational.
