ABSTRACT
It is no accident that less than a handful of editors have been referred to by name in the pages of this book on editing. If this were a book about camerawork or design, much of the text would refer to the individuals who have contributed to the development of their particular craft, but in the case of editing credit has invariably accrued to the directors for innovation and development in the cutting room.
