ABSTRACT

It is told that on his death bed the Hasidic master Zusia of Hanipol began to cry. When his disciples asked: ‘Are you crying because you are afraid that when you stand before the Holy Tribunal, they will ask you, “Why were you not like Moses?”’ ‘No’, replied Zusia: ‘Then why do you weep?’ he was asked. The master answered: ‘Because I am afraid that they will ask me why I was not like Zusia. Then what shall I say?’
