ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the range of approaches to quality improvement and quality assurance that are appropriate to school systems. The terms ‘quality improvement’ and ‘quality assurance’ are first discussed in the context of business, industry and government before the relevance of various approaches to quality improvement and quality assurance in school systems are considered.
