ABSTRACT
Many schools and LEAs are interested in carrying out a value-added analysis, but lack the basic measurement of attainment and ability of each individual student. This prompted me to describe an easy-to-use technique that deserves to be better known. Its purpose is to estimate the relative value added by subject area, and any school, LEA or national body could use it straight away.
