ABSTRACT
In Britain, careers services within higher education are the strongest example of specialist careers guidance services within educational institutions. In schools, and in further and adult education, careers education and guidance tends to be more closely linked to teaching roles: any specialist services are accordingly likely to be less strongly ‘bounded’. In higher education, on the other hand, careers guidance has tended to be separated more markedly from the teaching process.
