ABSTRACT

In this report we summarize the results of our program of research begun in 1986 at the National Institute Against Prejudice and Violence and continuing at The Prejudice Institute/Center for the Applied Study of Ethnoviolence. Central to this program has been our attempt to assess the impact of being victimized for reasons of group prejudice. Ethnoviolence is a term we introduced to delimit prejudiced behavior which causes, or is intended to cause, physical and psychological harm to its victims.
